Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information ONRCRD ("ONRCRD", "we", "us", or "the Service") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. The Service recovers publicly archived Twitter/X posts from the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: when you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects identifiers such as your name, email address, and profile image.
- Usage data: the searches you run, the Twitter/X handles you query, job status and progress, credit consumption, and plan or subscription status.
- Recovered content: archived tweets and related metadata retrieved on your behalf from public web archives, stored temporarily so you can review and export them.
- Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we receive only billing details such as the last four digits, card brand, and transaction status.
- Technical data: standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps used for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide and operate the Service, including running search jobs and tracking credits.
- To process payments, manage subscriptions, and prevent fraud.
- To enforce rate limits and usage policies and to secure the Service.
- To respond to support requests and communicate important service updates.
- To improve the Service, such as understanding aggregate usage patterns.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. About Recovered Content
The Service recovers content that was published publicly and preserved by third-party web archives. We act as a retrieval tool: recovered tweets remain the content of their original authors. If you are the author of content recovered through the Service and have concerns, contact us and we will review the request. Note that removing content from the originating archive or platform is controlled by those third parties, not by ONRCRD.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies required for authentication and security (set by Clerk) and local storage for interface preferences such as your theme selection. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following categories of third-party providers to operate the Service:
- Authentication: Clerk (account sign-in and identity management).
- Payments: Stripe (subscription billing and one-time purchases).
- Data source: the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine (public web archives).
- Infrastructure: hosting, database, and queue providers that process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
These providers process your information under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
7. Data Retention
- Search results: retained for 90 days on all plans, then permanently deleted.
- Account data: retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
- Billing records: retained as required by applicable law and payment processor obligations.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (TLS), access controls, and third-party processors with strong security practices. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at the address below. You can also delete your account from your account settings. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
